Japan, Oita: TC Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd., which operates ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa (Beppu City, Oita Prefecture) and Hotel Indigo Karuizawa (Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture), both part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has been awarded the highest “Gold” rating in the “PRIDE Index 2025,” a benchmark that evaluates initiatives related to LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities in the workplace. This marks the first time that an IHG hotel in Japan has received the “Gold” certification.
The “PRIDE Index” was established in 2016 by work with Pride, the first organization in Japan to develop an evaluation framework for workplace initiatives supporting sexual minorities, including LGBTQ+ individuals. The index consists of five categories: Policy, Representation, Inspiration, Development, and Engagement / Empowerment. Points are awarded based on the fulfillment of specified criteria within each category, and companies and organizations are recognized at one of three levels—Gold, Silver, or Bronze—according to their total score.
