A performance group called “Genka” presents a unique show featuring fire and light, distinct from juggling. Based in the Kansai region, they captivate audiences with dynamic flames and mesmerizing lights. It’s neither juggling nor dance but a spatial performance crafted with fire and light. This entertainment appeals to the senses without relying on words.

Founded in 1979, this group has created numerous performances inspired by the charm, landscapes, history, and traditions of Yufuin. Their impressive achievements include performances at the Shanghai World Expo opening, the Korea-Japan World Cup opening, the Chaumont International Garden Festival in France, the Finland International Music Festival, and concerts organized by the Nippon Foundation in Uzbekistan. They have also performed in over 60 countries and participated in various major domestic events and music festivals, including the National Cultural Festival in Japan.
Comprising nine members who balance their professional careers or academic pursuits, the group trains diligently to promote and develop the traditional art of Japanese taiko drumming both across Japan and internationally.

Years of special performances at major shrines as the dedications of ceremony. Calligraphy on the top of Mt. Fuji and special donation to Hakuho, great Yokozuan (Sumo wrestler) has been his iconic performances.
Rie Suzuki
The youngest recipient of the Excellence Award at the Tsugaru Shamisen National Competition, they also won the Nitabō Award (the highest honor) at the 2018 Tsugaru Shamisen National Tournament. Additionally, they performed as a traditional Japanese instrumentalist at the 8th Argerich Music Festival.
After graduating from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), they founded the shamisen school Wagokoro and continue to engage in a wide range of activities both domestically and internationally.

Founded in 1988, Baba Kids Kagura from Ōita City, celebrates its 35th anniversary.
Kagura is a traditional Japanese folk performance art that has been practiced since ancient times. It involves summoning deities to the sacred seat (kamigura) and performing dances in a state of divine possession to draw out the will of the gods, receive revelations, or undergo purification rituals.
